Dr. Helena Valois — Institutional Website · Clinical Psychology

Concept project built by ALB Seven. Dra. Helena Valois is a fictional professional, the name, licence number and background are invented, and the site states this at the top of every page. The project is a study in digital presence for clinical psychology.

The challenge

A psychologist's website carries a constraint most industries don't: the profession's code of ethics limits promises of outcome, patient testimonials and sensationalism. Little of the usual conversion toolkit survives. And the person arriving there is often vulnerable, an aggressive site drives them away.

Design decisions

• Deep moss-green palette. Warm, desaturated colours chosen to reproduce the feeling of a good consulting room: calm, safe, unhurried. No corporate blue, no clinical white.
• Slow, subtle animation. Elements enter gently, with no abrupt movement. The interface's tempo matches the tone of the service.
• A structure that answers anxiety. Approach → About → Process → FAQ. The visitor wants to know, in that order: what will happen, with whom, how it works, and what still frightens them.
• Practical information up front: session length, online and in-person options, and how to book a first conversation. That is what lowers the barrier to first contact.
• Bilingual PT/EN, relevant for online sessions with Brazilians living abroad.

What this project demonstrates

That ethical constraints don't prevent an effective site. When you cannot promise results, the job becomes conveying competence and care through form, and that is design.
