    Websites for law firms

For lawyers and firms that want to be found by people looking for legal help, with content marketing within what the Brazilian Bar (OAB) allows.

There are no published projects for this industry in the portfolio yet. Below, what changes in a website for this industry and how ALB Seven works.

    What usually goes wrong

People who need a lawyer rarely know one. They type their problem into Google, such as "labour lawyer dismissal without cause", and read what comes up. The firm that explains the subject well earns trust before the first contact.

Many law firm websites are a single corporate page with a photo of the building, a one-line list of practice areas and a form. They answer no questions, rank for no specific search and look like every other firm's site.

At the other extreme, some sites borrow retail language: promised wins, comparisons with competitors, aggressive calls to action. That is exactly what OAB rules forbid.

What a law firm website needs

Sobriety is not a lack of content. It is well-organised content.

    One page per practice area

Labour, family, corporate law: each area with its own page explaining common situations, required documents and how the engagement works.

A legal blog filtered by subject

Articles that explain rights in plain language are content marketing, which Provision 205/2021 expressly allows. Filtering by subject helps readers and Google understand the firm's specialty.

    Team with OAB numbers

Name, OAB registration number and background for each lawyer. That gives authorship and credibility to the published content.

    Discreet contact

A short form and WhatsApp, without asking for case details in writing before the conversation. People looking for a lawyer are often in a delicate situation.

    Legal service structured data

LegalService markup with address, service area and hours helps Google and AI assistants understand who the firm is and where it practises.

What Provision 205/2021 says, in short

Provision 205/2021 of the OAB Federal Council replaced the old Provision 94/2000 and is the current rule on legal advertising in Brazil. It allows legal marketing, including online, as long as it is compatible with the Bar Statute and the Code of Ethics.

Content marketing, that is, publishing informative material, is allowed. Published information must be objective and truthful, and the firm is accountable for it. Soliciting clients, commercialising the profession, promising results and comparing yourself with other lawyers are out.

The OAB runs a regulatory committee and a dedicated website to answer questions about what is allowed. This summary does not replace reading the rule. What ALB Seven does is structure the site and review the copy so it stays within it from day one.

    How ALB Seven builds it

    Custom theme or static site

For firms that want to publish articles on their own, a WordPress theme written from scratch, with no page builder in the critical path. For firms that publish little, a static site that is faster and cheaper to maintain.

    Language review

Every text is reviewed to remove outcome promises, superlatives and anything that reads as soliciting clients.

    Content that ranks

A page structure built from the questions the firm's clients actually ask, prerendered so Google reads the full text.

    Owned by the firm

Domain, code, Analytics and Search Console accounts in the firm's name.

    Related work

ALB Seven wrote a WordPress theme for law firms as a concept study: the code is real, the firm and names shown are fictional. In production, the closest theme is one for a management consultancy, built with the same approach.

    Frequently asked questions

Can a lawyer in Brazil have a website and advertise on Google?

Provision 205/2021 allows advertising online, including paid boosting, as long as there is no client solicitation, no commercialisation and no excessive spending. A corporate website and an informative blog are clearly within the rules.

    Can I add client testimonials?

It is a sensitive point in legal practice, because of confidentiality and the ban on soliciting clients. Before publishing any testimonial, we recommend checking your regional section's guidance. By default, we do not include testimonials on law firm websites.

    Who writes the blog articles?

Legal content should be written or reviewed by one of the firm's lawyers, who signs it. ALB Seven handles structure, language review and search optimisation.

    Do I need WordPress?

Only if the firm wants to publish articles often without depending on a developer. For a site that rarely changes, a static site is faster, safer and cheaper to maintain.

Shall we talk about your project?

Tell us what your business does and for whom. The first conversation is about understanding the goal, not selling a package.
